On until June 7th the traditional Chianti Wine Fair of Montespertoli. Just 25 km southwest of Florence, the town and its renowned vineyards are one of the pearls of the Chianti region.
This year the event reaches its 58th edition, making it one of the oldest food and wine exhibitions of Tuscany. Indeed, the fair isn’t only about Chianti wine but also about all the typical local products.
Many the side events on programme. Alongside tastings there will also be conventions, exhibitions, musical evenings, shows and street theatre. Furthermore also a historical pageant and a vintage cars, motorbikes and tractors meeting.
Obviously the undisputed star will be “Il Chianti”, rigorously branded Chianti, Chianti Montespertoli and Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The main town square, Piazza Machiavelli, will be hosting stalls housing local wineries.
