Popular international artists on scene also this year for the 19th edition of the Lucca Summer Festival. Musicians and singers from all over the world come to Lucca in the month of July to perform in live concerts which attract thousands of people. The beautiful walled town sets it all up in Piazza Napoleone, the heart of this Tuscan art city.
The concerts kick off on July 9th with two performing legends on stage: Van Morrison and Tom Jones. Two great friends, two unparalleled voices, for the first time together on stage in Italy. They share the same love for blues and soul and together they’ll be taking everyone on a journey to their musical roots, from the beginning till today.
The second evening will be on July 11th with American Jazz composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Marcus Miller and Californian singer, songwriter and musician Beth Hart.
Tuesday 12th July will see international superstar Lionel Richie on stage with Chicago band Earth Wind & Fire as guests. This concert will certainly be a party with the audience joining in singing all the hits from the extensive career of these two musical legends.
On the 13th Grammy award-winning singer-composer-bassist Esperanza (Emily) Spalding will be performing her newest project, Emily’s D+Evolution. With her that evening also Italian singer-songwriter Vinicio Capossela.
On Saturday 16th July legendary Canadian musician Neil Young will be on stage with Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. This will be followed on the 17th by an evening of Italian rappers.
Extraordinary concert on Wednesday 20th which will see Simply Red and Anastacia together. A warm welcome back to both.
Italian pop band Negramaro will be on stage on the 21st, followed on the 22nd by Italian comedian, blogger and political activist Beppe Grillo. On the 23rd it will be the turn of Italian X Factor revelation Marco Mengoni, whereas the honour to conclude the Lucca Summer Festival goes to Neapolitan singer-songwriter Edoardo Bennato on the 27th.
